BP Kanungo was appointed as Deputy Governor in Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for three years. The Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC) has approved his appointment to the post with effect from the date of taking over the charge on or after April 3, an order issued by Personnel Ministry said. He has been appointed in place of R Gandhi, it said.
Kanungo was in March last year appointed as Executive Director in the central bank.

India's first Indian Institute of Skills will get in 3 locations viz. Mumbai, Kanpur and Ahmedabad in the country. Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has approved the proposal to set up Indian Institute of Skills (IISs) on Not-for-profit Public Private Partnership (N-PPP) basis.

The reason behind these institutes is to promote further growth of the Indian Skills sector overall, new measures have been initiated by the Government of India to establish state of the art training institutions called Indian Institutes of Skill (IISs).
