A duty or task that needs to be fulfilled is a responsibility that needs to happen.

For example : a doctor has his own task or responsibility, a police, a lawyer, etc... all have their own responsibilities.  

Samuel Gompers was a leading proponent of workers' rights. He was the first president of the American Federation of Labor, an organization that represented skilled workers from many different industries. Gompers advocated using collective bargaining or negotiations and strikes to gain greater rights for workers.

Inclusive unionism is practiced mostly by industrial unions. The practice of a labor union of including as members all workers employed in an industry is called as Inclusive unionism.
