In given word OLIVER there are 3 vowels E, I & O. These can be arranged in only one way as dictionary order E, I & O.

There are 6 letters in thegiven word.

First arrange 3 vowels.

This can be done in 6C3 ways and that too in only one way.(dictionary order E, I & O)

Remaining 3 letters can be placed in 3 places = 3! ways

Total number of possible ways of arranging letters of OLIVER = 3! x C36 ways = 6x5x4 = 120 ways.

Concentration of glucose are in the ratio = 12:35:45

Quantity of glucose taken from A = 1 liter out of 2

Quantity of glucose taken from B = 3/5 x 3 = 1.5 lit

Quantity of glucose taken from C = 0.8 lit

So, total quantity of glucose taken from A,B and C = 3.6 lit

So, quantity of alcohol = (2 + 3 + 1) - 3.6 = 2.4 lit

Ratio of glucose to alcohol = 3.6/2.4 = 3:2

From the given data,

let the initial quantity of the mixture = 5x

Then,

Then speed of the slower train will be '(S-5)' kmph

Time taken by faster train = 350/S hrs

Time taken by slower train = 350/(S-5) hrs

Given,Let the cost price of single book be Rs. 100.

The cost price of (9 + 1) = 10 pair i.e. 20 books = Rs. (100 × 20) = Rs. 2000.He gets profit of 26%.

So, the selling price of 9 pair i.e. 18 books = Rs. 2000 × (126/100) = Rs. 2520

Then,the selling price of single book = Rs. 2520/18 = Rs. 140

He gives 20% discount on the marked price of a book.

That means, when the selling price is Rs. 80 then the marked price is Rs. 100.

∴When the selling price of single book is Rs. 140, the marked price = Rs. 140 × (100/80) = Rs. 175

∴The percentage increase in marked price from the cost price = (175 –100)% = 75%

Given sum of present ages of A, B, C & D

A + B + C + D = 176

and also given that,

(A-4) : (B-4) : (C-4) : (D-4) = 11 : 9 : 6 : 14

Let the ratio = x

=> A-4 + B-4 + C-4 + D-4 = 11x + 9x + 6x + 14x

=> (A + B + C + D ) - 16 = 40x

=> 176 - 16 = 40x

=> x = 4

=> A = 44 + 4 = 48

=> B = 40

=> C = 28

=> D = 60

Therefore, from the above conclusions

D is eldest with 60 years and C is youngest with 28 years of ages.

Converting each of the given fractions into decimal form, we get

2/3 = 0.66, 3/4 = 0.75, 4/5 = 0.8, 5/6 = 0.833 

Since 0.833>0.8>0.75>0.66 

So, 5/6 > 4/5 > 3/4 > 2/3 

Therefore,  Required Difference = 5/6 - 2/3 = 1/6
