In this series, the third letter is repeated as the first letter of the next segment. The middle letter, A, remains static. The third letters are in alphabetical order, beginning with R.

Given number series -1, 244, 163, 190, 181, ?,

The pattern is as follows

1 + 243 = 244

244 - 81 = 163

163 + 27 = 190

190 - 9 = 181

181 + 3 = 184

The given sequence is a combination of three series:
i)1st, 4th, 7th terms i.e, 2, 4, 9
ii)2nd, 5th, 8th terms i.e, 3, 6, 12
iii)3rd, 6th, 9th terms i.e, 4, 8, 16
In each one of i, ii, iii, each term is twice the preceding term.
So, 9 is wrong and must be replaced by (4*2) = 8

The given number series 999, 990, 998, 991, 997, 992, ?

It follows a pattern that,

999 - 9 = 990

990 + 8 = 998

998 - 7 = 991

991 + 6 = 997

997 - 5 = 992

992 + 4 = 996

Hence, the next number in the given number series is 996.
