Anything that has Mass and takes up Space is called Matter.

Matter has some mass and occupies some space. Mass means the amount of matter in an object. Space occupied by an object is called its Volume.

The Study of Matter and and how matter changes is called Chemistry.

Blood is a heterogeneous mixture because the blood cells are physically separate from the blood plasma. The cells have different properties than the plasma. The cells can be separated from the plasma by centrifuging, which is a physical change.

Gitanjali Rao, an 11-year-old Indian-American schoolgirl, was named as "America’s top young scientist" for inventing a cost-effective, quick lead-contamination detector in water. The seventh-grade student was inspired by the large-scale lead contamination in water in Flint, Michigan, that came to light recently.

Nutrients are the substances in food that provide the raw materials and energy the body needs to carry out all its essential processes.

There are six groups of nutrients:

1. Carbohydrates.

2. Fats.

3. Proteins.

4. Vitamins.

5. Minerals.

6. Water.
