Cretinism is a disease caused by hypothyroidism (less thyroxine formation) . The symptoms of the disease are retardation of mental, physical and sexual developments. potbelly, protruding tongue, dry skin etc are also indicative of this disease.

India has been unanimously elected as the President of the UN-Habitat. UN-Habitat, an organ of the United Nations’ Organisation (UNO) reports to the United Nations General Assembly. UN-Habitat  promotes socially and environmentally sustainable human settlements across the world. India has been elected as the President of UN-Habitat after a gap of 10 years. Lactose is a disaccharide composed of the monosaccharides D-glucose and D-galactose, joined in a ß-1,4-glycosidic linkage. The chemical name for lactose is 4-0-ß-D-galactopyranosyl-D-glucopyranose.

Nitrogen is found as a diatomic molecule (N2) in nature. There is a triple bond between the two nitrogen atoms.

The triple bond is pretty strong. Therefore, it needs a lot of energy to break those bonds and participate in a reaction. So nitrogen is commonly referred to as and used as an inert gas (high abundance & low cost.) However, it’s not truly inert like most noble gases. Nitrogen does react if the conditions are met. But those conditions are not exactly mild, but are not as extreme as for noble gases.

It forms nitric oxide and nitrogen dioxide with oxygen, ammonia with hydrogen, and nitrogen sulfide with sulfur.
