The law of conservation of energy is a law of science which states that energy can neither be created nor destroyed - only converted from one form of energy to another.

In 1842, Julius Robert Mayer discovered the Law of Conservation of Energy.

Harappan or Indus Valley Civilization was the first and ancient civilization which started in what now Pakistan and North West India.

The Harappan civilization existed between 3300 BC and 1300 BC.

The ruins of Mohenjo-daro is a major archaeological site that was built by this civilization and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Resistivity :

Resistivity is a measure of the resistance to the flow of electrons. 

Conductivity :

Conductivity is just the inverse of resistivity, σ = 1/ρ, where σ is conductivity and ρ is resistivity.

Example:

Think of a pipe and water, the bigger the pipe, the easier water can flow and thus the lower the resistance. 

Mercury was the remedy of choice for syphilis in Protestant Europe. Until the early 20th century, the primary treatment for syphilis was mercury, in the form of calomel, ointments, steam baths, pills, and other concoctions.

Mercury was already being used in Western Europe to treat skin diseases.

Like commas, semicolons indicate an audible pause — slightly longer than a comma's, but short of a period's full stop.

Rules for Semicolon ::

1. A semicolon can replace a period if the writer wishes to narrow the gap between two closely linked sentences.

2. Use a semicolon before such words and terms as namely, however, therefore, that is, i.e., for example, e.g., for instance, etc., when they introduce a complete sentence. It is also preferable to use a comma after these words and terms.

3. Avoid a semicolon when a dependent clause comes before an independent clause.

4. Use a semicolon to separate units of a series when one or more of the units contain commas.

Hence according to rule no. 2) option (C) He ate; however, he didn't sleep is correctly puctuated with a semicolon.
