6M + 3B = 4M + 4B

X-1=Y, 2(Y-2)=X.
Solve the equations, we get X=4, Y=3.

Also, x/(y-2) - x/y = 40/60 --> y(y-2) = 3x -------- (ii)
On dividing (i) by (ii), we get:

x = 40 km.
