The given number series is 6, 6, 9, 18, 45, ?

Here the series follows a pattern that,

6 

6 x 1 = 6

6 x 1.5 = 9

9 x 2 = 18

18 x 2.5 = 45

45 x 3 = 135

Hence, the next number in the given number series is 135.

This can be easily simplified by Approximation process

Given 39.96% of 649.85 ÷13.07 = 45.14 - ? can be written as 

40% of 650 ÷13 = 45 - ?

$$\begin{gathered} 40 x 65010013 = 45 - ? \\ ? = 45 - 20 \\ ? = 25. \end{gathered}$$

Here the given series 28, 12, 4, 2, -2 follows a pattern that

$$\begin{gathered} 28 \\ 28 - 24 = 28 - 16 = 12 \\ 12 - 23 = 12 - 8 = 4 \\ 4 - 22 = 4 - 4 = 0 (NOT 2) \\ 0 - 21 = 0 - 2 = -2 \end{gathered}$$

Hence, the odd man in the given series is 2.

Clearly, alternatively we add and subtract 10% of a term to obtain the next term of the series.
Thus, 10000 + (10% of 10000)= 11000;
11000 - (10% of 11000) = 9900;
 9900 + (10% of 9900)  = 10890;
10890 - (10% of 10890) = 9801.
 9801 + (10% of 9801)  = 9801+980 = 10781.
So, missing term = 10890- (10% of 10890)= 9801.

Given number series is 9 17 11 19 13 

Here the pattern is

• 9

• 9 + 8 = 17

• 17 - 6 = 11

• 11 + 8 = 19

• 19 - 6 = 13

• 13 + 8 = 21

• 21 - 6 = 15

• 15 + 8 = 23

In each term second two numbers are multiples of the first number. But in 4-15-24 15 is not multiple of 4.

The given number series is 6, 8, 5, 10, 4, 14
