Sound waves cannot travel through a Vacuum.

A vacuum is an area without any air, like space. So sound cannot travel through space because there is no matter for the vibrations to work in.

From both voices it can be conclude that,

Varanasi is more than 20km but less than 22km away. That is it is 21 kms away.

Given, difference of the squares of two numbers is 180.

= k² - l² - 180

Also, square of the smaller number is 8 times the larger.

= l² = 8k

Thus, k² - 8a - 180 = 0

k² – 18k + 10k - 180 = 0

→  k(k - 18) + 10(k – 18) = 0

= (k + 10)(k – 18) = 0

→  k = -10, 18

Thus, the other number is

324 - 180 = l² 

→ Numbers are 12, 18 or -12, 18.

We know that,

P.W = 100×T.D/R×T

= 100×168/14×2

P.W = 600.

Now, required Sum = (P.W. + T.D.)

= Rs. (600 + 168)

= Rs. 768.
