Iconic attraction of India Taj Mahal has emerged as the 5th most popular landmark in the world and 2nd in Asia, according to the online travel portal TripAdvisor’s ‘Travellers’ Choice Awards for Landmarks. Globally, Angkor Wat in Cambodia, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center in Abu Dhabi, Mezquita Cathedral de Cordoba in Spain, and St Peter’s Basilica in Italy, bagged the first four ranks respectively. Whereas, the top 10 landmarks in Asia has been topped by Angkor Wat, followed by Taj Mahal on the second place. Apart from this, Taj Mahal has also ranked first in the list of popular landmarks in India, followed by AmberFort, Jaipur; Swaminarayan Akshardham, New Delhi, etc.

Bengaluru has became the second city in the country, and the first in south India, to have a full-fledged Metro rail in operation following the opening of a final 12-km section of the 42-km first phase of the Metro project. Maglev derived from magnetic levitation using the principle of magnetic repulsion is a system of train transportation that uses two sets of magnets, one set to repel and push the train up off the track as in levitation then another set to move the 'floating train' ahead at great speed taking advantage of no friction. Maglev trains are therefore quieter and smoother than conventional trains, and have the potential for much higher speeds

Despite over a century of research and development, maglev transport systems are in operation in just three countries Japan, South Korea and China.

Dispur will make CT scans, X-rays and blood tests free in all government hospitals in Assam except those in the medical colleges. Health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed the Assembly during question hour that chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal will inaugurate the new scheme on May 11. The service will be outsourced to a private organisation but the cost will be borne by the government. The free service – not for medical colleges – will be started with 35 hospitals and expanded to 500 smaller health centres.
