The American Planning Association (APA) has announced this year's international excellence award for the Bhubaneswar smart city project.

The award called Pierre L'Enfant International Planning Excellence Award 2017 will be given on May 8 in New York city.

This is the first time in the 50 years history of APA's annual award programme that an Indian city has been recognised for its planning efforts.

BP Kanungo was appointed as Deputy Governor in Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for three years. The Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC) has approved his appointment to the post with effect from the date of taking over the charge on or after April 3, an order issued by Personnel Ministry said. He has been appointed in place of R Gandhi, it said.
Kanungo was in March last year appointed as Executive Director in the central bank.

the rape of girls below 12 years of age. State Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria introduced

'The Criminal Laws (Rajasthan Amendment) Bill, 2018' in the assembly, which was passed in the

House by a voice vote following a debate.

Uniform civil code is the ongoing point of debate within Indian mandate to replace personal laws based on the scriptures and customs of each major religious community in India with a common set of rules governing every citizen.

Goa is the only state in INdia where Uniform Civil Code is applied. Laws are equal to all religion. Polygamy and triple talaq are illegal.
