When the European union formed nations began to cooperate on law enforcement. The European Union is set up with the aim of ending the frequent and bloody wars between neighbours, which culminated in the Second World War.

As of 1950, the European Coal and Steel Community begins to unite European countries economically and politically in order to secure lasting peace. The six founding countries are Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. The 1950s are dominated by a cold war between east and west.

The historical roots of the European Union lie in the Second World War. Europeans are determined to prevent such killing and destruction from ever happening again.

The three major amendments that were passed shortly after the Civil War are the reconstruction amendments that were the 13th, 14th, and 15th amendments.

The 13th Amendment abolished slavery,

The 14th granted African American citizenship and equal protection before the law, (and)

The 15th Amendment attempted to secure the right to vote for newly freed slaves. 

Judaism is one of the oldest monotheistic religions and was founded over 3500 years ago in the Middle East.

Jews believe that God appointed the Jews to be his chosen people in order to set an example of holiness and ethical behaviour to the world.

The Holocaust, also referred to as the Shoah,[b] was a genocide during World War II in which Nazi Germany, aided by its collaborators, systematically murdered approximately 6 million European Jews, around two-thirds of the Jewish population of Europe, between 1941 and 1945.

The Holocaust originated in Nazi Germany in the late 1930s and eventually spread throughout Central and Eastern Europe into countries invaded and occupied by Germany during World War II.

The Nazis were racists and believed their race was more important. Nazis believed that the jews were a problem. Many of the non-germans that were living on the land were sent to concentration camps.

The main place it took place was eastern Germany and Poland. The Holocaust was largely comprised of a vast network of concentration camps in countries including Germany, Poland, Austria, Ukraine, Norway, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Belarus, the Netherlands, and France.

In 1887 Congress passed the Interstate Commerce Act, making the railroads the first industry subject to Federal regulation. Congress passed the law largely in response to public demand that railroad operations be regulated.

Railroads discriminated in the prices they charged to passengers and shippers in different localities by providing rebates to large shippers or buyers. These practices were especially harmful to American farmers, who lacked the shipment volume necessary to obtain more favorable rates.

The Progressive Movement:

Today, you hear the term ''progressive'' discussed a lot in politics, but progressivism is not a new concept. It was first used to describe policies and interventions of the late 19th to early 20th century, by reformers who felt the need for societal changes.

The first Progressives felt called to action in response to the conditions of poverty, inequality, and corruption that were pervasive during the 19th century.
