Karst is a type of landscape that is characterized by caverns, caves, sinkholes, and underground streams. These features were all caused by erosion of the underlying rock.

Limestone type of rock usually underlies a karst landscape.

The earth's atmosphere is composed of 4 layers.

The ozone layer is located in the lower region of the Stratosphere which extends at 11 - 50 kms from the Earth's suface.

The alternation of wet and dry seasons leads to the leaching away of the siliceous matter of the rocks and the formation of laterite soils. It has been observed that there is a general relationship between altitude and the chemical composition of laterite soils. The soils on the higher areas are generally more acidic than on the low lying areas.

Hemopoiesis begins in the red bone marrow, with hemopoietic stem cells that differentiate into myeloid and lymphoid lineages.

Myeloid stem cells give rise to all the other formed elements, including the erythrocytes; megakaryocytes that produce platelets; and a myeloblast lineage that gives rise to monocytes and three forms of granular leukocytes: neutrophils, eosinophils, and basophils.
