We know that,

Refractive Index of glass with respect to air = 4/3

Refractive index of water with respect to air = 3/2

Hence, Refractive Index of glass with respect to water = (4/3) x (2/3) = 8/9.

So, resistance of Wire 2 is R/4 as radius is half of wire 1, so area would be 4 times of wire 1.

Now for resistance in series. R= R1 + R2.

Therefore, Final R= R + R/4 = 5R/4

Depending upon the increase or decrease in price rates, buyers may respond accordingly. Some buyers may assume that quality of the product may have reduced to to reduction in price or that the company may not be selling the product as per expectations.
