Metamorphism is the change of minerals or geologic texture in pre-existing rocks, without the protolith melting into liquid magma. The change occurs primarily due to heat, pressure, and the introduction of chemically active fluids.

The parent rock must be in solid form. Tons of pressure must be applied for metamorphism to happen. The process must take place underground.

Human somatic cells have 46 chromosomes(23 pairs) but a gamete(germ cell) gets half the amount, i.e. 23 chromosomes, (one from each pair). There will be half the number of chromosomes an organism has in its somatic cells (all other body cells except gametes).

For example in humans, the somatic cells contain 46 chromosomes which are the diploid number (2n) and each sperm and egg has 23 chromosomes where one of them is the sex chromosome.

BRICS is basically an association of 5 major emerging national economies: Brazil, Russia,China, India and South Africa.

BRIC was coined in Foreign Ministerial meeting of Brazil,Russia,China and India in Newyork in Sept 2006. BRIC officialy came in existance in 2009 at Yekaterinburg,Russia.

At start group was named as BRIC, but after being formally invited by the BRIC countries to join the group, South Africa officially became a member nation on 24 December 2010, and the group was renamed BRICS.
