A Clock has 3 hands i.e, an Hour hand, a Minute hand and a Seconds hand.

That 8 letter word is Whatsapp (a messenger app)

First four letters:   WHAT a question
 
Letters 2,3,4:     HAT protects our head

Letters 5,6,7:   SAP an IT company

Letters 7,8:    PP same.

Given that, a woman has seven children. Half of them are boys. 

Half of 7 is 3.5 which is not possible. And it is possible in only one way that all the children must be boys. Then half of them are boys.

Our solution:

Toss the coin twice.
Let TH, HT and TT correspond to the three choices.
And if you get HH, just repeat (so it takes 8/3 tosses on average).


BIASED COIN

If the coin was biased, TH and HT would occur with equal probability.
So you could assign THHT, HTTH and THTH to the three choices, with other 4-toss outcomes rejected.
Or you could assign HTT, THT and TTH to the three choices, with other 3-toss outcomes rejected.

Those are stairs which goes up and down without moving.
