India’s first smartcard-based Public Bicycle Sharing (PBS) initiative has launched in Mysuru, Karnataka on June 4, 2017. The cost of the project, partly funded by World Bank’s Global Environmental Facility, for the next six years is Rs 20.5 crore, covering the maintenance of the docking stations and bicycles. About 450 bicycles will be available for public use in the city. To rent a bicycle, the citizens of Mysuru or tourists need to register themselves either online or by visiting one of the six registration centres situated close to tourism centres and obtain a smart card after paying Rs. 350, including a refundable deposit of Rs. 250. Though the use of the bicycle is free for the first one hour, the users will have to pay a nominal fee of Rs. 5 for two hours, Rs. 10 for three hours and so on.

The main function of a school board is to manage public schools in accordance with state and federal law.

The functions of the school board of a public school are:

• to establish strategic direction and priorities for the school.

• to monitor and review school performance and to report on it to the Director-General, parents of students at the school and staff.

• to develop, maintain and review curriculum for the school.

• to develop and review education policies at the school.

• to establish budgetary policies for the school and approve the school budget.

• to establish policies for the efficient and effective use of school assets and the management of financial risk.

• to develop relationships between the school and the community and between the school and community organisations.

• to make recommendations to the Director-General on issue affecting the school and to give effect to the Director-General’s directions.

• to encourage parent participation in their children’s learning; and

• to exercise any other function given to the board under this Act or any other
Territory law.

Currently, the Melbourne Cricket Ground is the world's largest cricket stadium in the world with a total capacity of 100,024. The boundary line of this ground is 85–92 meters from the middle of the pitch which is the highest of all the Cricket grounds around the world. While Kolkata's Eden Gardens is reportedly No. 2 with a capacity of 66,000. 

The Sardar Patel Gujarat Stadium, also known as Motera Stadium getting built in Ahmedabad will accommodate 1.1 lakh cricketing fans inside the stadium overtaking current record-holder Melbourne Cricket Ground .

The Economic Survey for 2016-17, which is recently tabled by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in Parliament, has expected India’s GDP growth estimation to be in 6.75 % to 7.5% for Financial Year 2017-18.
