Amount of Rs. 100 for 1 year

when compounded half-yearly = Rs.[100*(1+3/100)^2]=Rs.106.09

Effective rate=(106.09-100)%=6.09%

Let initially 'X' ticket has been sold.
So now in 2nd week 20% increases, so
=> X x 120/100
In 3rd week 16% increases, so
=> X x (120/100) x (116/100)
In 4th week 20% decrease, so
=> X x (120/100) x (116/100) x (80/100) = 1392
X = 1250.

x128 = 162x

Then x² = 162x128

   = Sqrt of 8² x 6² x 3²

   = 8 x 6 x 3

   x²  = 144.

So, the day on 24th Nov, 2007 will be 1 day beyond the day on 24th Nov, 2006.
But, 24th Nov, 2007 is Thursday.
24 - 10 = 14 days.

Thus, 10th Nov, 2006 is one day before 10th Nov, 2007 i.e. it is Wednesday.

If the price of the oranges decreases by 10%, the woman would save 10% of the money that is Rs.50 to buy the same amount as before.Now in Rs. 50 she can buy 2 kg more, therefore the current price of 1 kg of oranges is Rs25.Now, this current price is after 10% reduction.

Therefore, the original price =  25/0.9  = Rs. 27.77

S.I. for last 6 months = (104 x 8 x 1) / (100 x 2) = Rs. 4.16

Effective rate = (108.16 - 100) = 8.16%.
