Q:

Kalyan purchased a Maruti van for Rs. 1,96,000 and the rate of depreciation is 14(2/7) % per annum. Find the value of the van after two years ?

A) Rs. 1,24,000 B) Rs. 1,44,000
C) Rs. 1,32,000 D) Rs. 1,62,000

Answer & Explanation Answer: B) Rs. 1,44,000

Explanation:

Value of Maruti Van, V1 = Rs. 1,96,000
Rate of depreciation, r = 14(2/7)% = 100/7%; Time, t = 2 years
Let V2 is the value after depreciation.

V2 = V11 - r100t
V2 = 196001 - 10071002

V2 = 196000(6/7)(6/7)

V2 = (196000x36)/49 = Rs. 1,44,000.

Q:

A person lends Rs. 1540 for five years and Rs. 1800 for four years. If he gets Rs. 1788 as interest on both amounts, what is the rate of interest ?

A) 14.5% B) 11%
C) 12% D) 10.5%

Answer & Explanation Answer: C) 12%

S.I = PTR/100

=> (1540 x 5 x r)/100  +  (1800 x 4 x r)/100 = 1788

=> r = 178800/14900 = 12%

Q:

If everyone on the team is a veteran, what will you do to fit in ?

Answer

This answer shows steps of becoming a team member that doesn't appear to be in training. It is describing ways to limit training times in meetings, and include that a new worker could benefit an existing team by making a list of ideas.

Even if everyone is a veteran, I feel confident I can fit right in. I would prepare as much as I can by reading existing material to catch up on the project. I would plan for meetings by making a list of questions I have and finding the answers to these questions before the meeting. I would also create a list of ideas through the documents I have read. A fresh mind could help with creative solutions. I know that I would be required to study a lot in the beginning, but I would be able to do so at home or by working late in the office.

Q:

Ishikha got married 9 years ago. Today her age is 4/3 times her age at the time of marriage. At present her daughter’s age is one-sixth of her age. What was her daughter’s age three years ago?

A) 4 years B) 3 years
C) 2 years D) 1 year

Answer & Explanation Answer: B) 3 years

Explanation:

Let Ishika and her daughter present ages be p and q

 From the given data,

p = 4/3(p - 9)

 => p = 36 years

Hence, Ishika's present age = 36 years and

Her daughter's present age = 1/6 x 36 = 6 years

Now, required her daughter’s age three years ago = 6 - 3 = 3 years.
