A number is divisible by 9 only if the sum of the digits of the number is divisible by 9.

Here 86236 = 8 + 6 + 2 + 3 + 6 = 25

We must add 2 to 25 to become 27 which is divisible by 9.

As in this problem , buying any fruit is different case , as buying apple is independent from buying banana. so ADDITION rule will be used.
