Quantitative Aptitude - Arithmetic Ability Questions

Given equation can be written as

$$\begin{gathered} 215 x 103 + ? = 24 \\ => 14 + ? = 24 \\ => ? = 24 - 14 \\ => ? = 10 \end{gathered}$$

a+b=5   ...(1)    and    3a+2b=20 ...(2)

Multiplying (1) by 2 and subtracting from (2), we get : a=10.

Putting a=10 in (1), we get : b=-5

Therefore,   (3a+b) = 3 x 10+(-5)=30-5=25.

4 o'clock, the hands of the watch are 20 min. spaces apart.
To be in opposite directions, they must be 30 min. spaces apart.
Minute hand will have to gain 50 min. spaces.
55 min. spaces are gained in 60 min 

50 min. spaces are gained in 6055×50 min. or 54611 

Required time = 54611 min. past 4.

125 + 13x1 = 138

138 + 13x2 = 164

164 + 13x3 = 203

Hence, the missing number in the series is 203.

Let the average after 7th inning = x

Then average after 16th inning = x - 3

16(x-3)+87 = 17x 

 x = 87 - 48 = 39

2 x 1.5 = 3

3 x 2  = 6

6 x 2.5 = 15

15 x 3 = 45
