A complex sentence is a sentence that contains an independent clause and one or more dependent clauses.

If two clauses are connected with a coordinating conjunction, it's a compound sentence.

If two clauses are connected with a subordinating conjunction, it's a complex sentence.

Osmosis is the process in which water molecules move from a region of higher water potential to a region of lower potential down a water potential gradient across a partially permeable membrane. It doen't requires any additional energy to do this work. 

So, Osmosis is a Passive.

Active and passive transport processes are two ways molecules and other materials move in and out of cells and cross intracellular membranes.

1. Active transport is the movement of molecules or ions against a concentration gradient (from an area of lower to higher concentration), which does not ordinarily occur, so enzymes and energy are required.

2. Passive transport is the movement of molecules or ions from an area of higher to lower concentration. Passive transport occurs because of the entropy of the system, so additional energy isn't required for it to occur.

3. Active transport requires energy to proceed, while passive transport does not require the input of extra energy to occur.

The atmosphere is a mixture of several gases. Nitrogen is the most abundant gas in the atmoshere and oxygen is next to it. It is 78% in the atmosphere and 21% is oxygen. Remaining 1% is all other gases like argon, hydrogen, neon, etc...

Phage typing is based on the fact that bacterial viruses attack specific cells. Phage typing is a method used for detecting single strains of bacteria. It is used to trace the source of outbreaks of infections. 

Wular Lake is the largest fresh water lake in India. It is sited in Bandipora district in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. The lake basin was formed as a result of tectonic activity and is fed by the Jhelum River.
