Let length, breadth and height of the room be 7, 3, 1 unit respectively.

Area of walls = 2(l+b)xh = 2(7+3)x1 = 20 sq. unit.

Now, length, breadth and height of room will become 3.5, 6 and 2 respectively. 

Area of walls = 2(l+b)xh = 2(3.5+6)x2 = 38 sq. unit. 

% Increase in the area of walls = (38-20)x100/20 = 90%.

Here 85 of 352 => 85 is what percent in 352

Let p% of 352 is 85

Percentage(%) is generally calculated in the total of 100.

=> p x 352/100  = 85

=> p = 8500/352  = 24.14%

Hence, 85 is 24.14% of 352.

Given total number of the cubicles = 8

Given that only 1/8 of the cubicle is painted

Then of the total 8 cubicles, 1/8 is

1/8 x 1 = 1 cubicle.

=> [9s/10] x 22 = t x s

=> t = 19.8 hrs

Hence, if bus runs at its own speed, the time saved = 22 - 19.8 = 2.2 hrs.
