48, 54, 63, 81 and 105 are divisible by 3 but not 35.

Let the two conditioners be A and B

'A' cools at 40min

'B' at 45min

Together = (a x b)/(a + b)

= (45 x 40)/(45 + 40)

= 45 x 40/85

= 21.1764

= 22 min (approx).

The given number series follows a pattern that,

$$\begin{gathered} 19 + 12 = 20 (not 21) \\ 20 + 22 = 24 \\ 24 + 32 = 33 \\ 33 + 42 = 49 \\ 49 + 52 = 74 \end{gathered}$$

Hence, the odd number in the given number series is 21.

The series follows the following pattern.

37 = 12+62

58 = 32+72

81 ≠52+82.

Here every number is based on the digits of previous number. Hence, 81 is the wrong number in the given series.

Clearly, alternatively we add and subtract 10% of a term to obtain the next term of the series.
Thus, 10000 + (10% of 10000)= 11000;
11000 - (10% of 11000) = 9900;
 9900 + (10% of 9900)  = 10890;
10890 - (10% of 10890) = 9801.
 9801 + (10% of 9801)  = 9801+980 = 10781.
So, missing term = 10890- (10% of 10890)= 9801.

From both statements we cannot conclude the train catched by Harish

Since he missed at 4.15 and train coes at 4.30, 4.45, 5.00,...

But in B given that he didn't catch the train at 4.45 and after that.

So both statements A & B together are not sufficient to answer the question.

The given puzzle follows a logic that,

2 + 10 = 24 => 2 + 10 = 12 x 2 = 24

3 + 6 = 27 => 3 + 6 = 9 x 3 = 27

7 + 2 = 63 = 7 + 2 = 9 x 7 = 63

Similarly, 5 + 3 = 40 => 5 + 3 = 8 x 5 = 40.

Given a x a = 12

asked to find a x a x a x a =  (a x a) x (a x a)

a⁴ = a² x a² 

= 12 x 12

= 144.
