Time taken to meet for the first time anywhere on the track

= length of the track / relative speed

= 300 / (15 + 25)5/18 = 300x 18 / 40 x 5 = 27 seconds.

Ratio of times taken by P & Q = 100 : 130 = 10:13

Let Q takes x days to do the work

Then, 10:13 :: 23:x

=> x = 23x13/10

=> x = 299/10

P's 1 day's work = 1/23

Q's 1 day's work = 10/299

(P+Q)'s 1 day's work = (1/23 + 10/299) = 23/299 = 1/13

Hence, P & Q together can complete the work in 13 days.

If yesterday were tomorrow, today is Friday => tomorrow of friday is Saturday.

Quantity 1:
Let the first pipe alone takes x hours to fill the
tank.
⇒The second and third pipes will take (x-5) and

According to the given information:
∴ 1x-9

⇒ (x-9)(2x-5) = x2 – 5x
⇒ 2x2 – 5x – 18x + 45 = x2 – 5x

2 -18x + 45 = 0
⇒ (x-15) (x-3) = 0

∴ Time taken by second pipe = x-5
