A mixture is the blending of two or more dissimilar substances.

Characteristics of a Mixture:

1. It has No formula.

2. It is an impure sustance

3. They can be mixed in any ratio.

4. The properties of the mixture are the properties of its constituents.

5. Constituents can e easily seperated by physical methods.
eg: Heating, Drying, Crystallization, Distillation etc...

6. It is either homogenous or heterogenous.

A major characteristic of mixtures is that the materials do not chemically combine. Mixtures can be divided into those that are evenly distributed (homogeneous) and those that aren't (heterogeneous).

Chemical Compounds with stronger intermolecular forces have higher boiling points.

The order of strengths of intermolecular forces is:

 London dispersion < dipole-dipole < H-bonding

Phencyclidine (PCP) is a drug used for its mind-altering effects. It is also known as Angel dust. As a recreational drug, it is typically smoked, but may be taken by mouth, snorted, or injected. It may also be mixed with cannabis or tobacco.

Causes and Effects ::

* PCP may cause hallucinations, distorted perceptions of sounds, and violent behavior.

* Its effects include seizures, coma, addiction, and an increased risk of suicide.

Chitin is one of many naturally occurring polymers. It is one of the most abundant natural materials in the world. Over time it is bio-degradable in the natural environment. Its breakdown may be catalyzed by enzymes called chitinases, secreted by microorganisms such as bacteria and fungi, and produced by some plants.

Chitin is composed of repeating units of N-acetylglucosamine, a nitrogen-containing form of glucose.

Mercury and Bromine both will be in liquid state at room temperature. But mercury is metal. Hence, bromine is the only non metal which is in liquid state at room temperature.
