virtual LAN (VLAN) is any broadcast domain that is partitioned and isolated in a computer network at the data link layer (OSI layer 2). LAN is the abbreviation for local area network and in this context, virtual refers to a physical object recreated and altered by additional logic.

VLANs work by applying tags to network packets and handling these tags in networking systems – creating the appearance and functionality of network traffic that is physically on a single network but acts as if it is split between separate networks. In this way, VLANs can keep network applications separate despite being connected to the same physical network, and without requiring multiple sets of cabling and networking devices to be deployed.

Java Collections Framework provides a well designed set of interfaces and classes that support operations on a collections of objects. The most basic interfaces that reside in the Java Collections Framework are:

Collection, which represents a group of objects known as its elements.

Set, which is a collection that cannot contain duplicate elements.

List, which is an ordered collection and can contain duplicate elements.

Map, which is an object that maps keys to values and cannot contain duplicate keys.

An alert box displays only one button which is the OK button whereas the Confirm box displays two buttons namely OK and cancel.

The mapreduce framework contains most of the key architecture principles of cloud computing such as:

- Scale: The framework is able to expand itself in direct proportion to the number of machines available.

- Reliable: The framework is able to compensate for a lost node and restart the task on a different node.

- Affordable: A user can start small and over time can add more hardware.
