The United States government has 3 branches, which all serve an important role in running the government and keeping our system of laws in place.

1. The legislative branch

2. The executive branch 

3. The judicial branch

The legislative branch makes the laws while the executive branch enforces these laws. 


The judicial branch is a system of courts that applies the laws.

Both the federal government and each of the 5 states have individual judicial branches which all serve this purpose.

For example :: 

If the federal government were like a basketball game, the judicial branch is much like the referee that helps settle disputes. The executive branch and the legislative branch are often like the players in the game trying to score points against each other, and the judicial branch is there to clarify the rules and make sure each side is acting fairly.

Clearly adoptindg such a policy help to regulate the population gowth,which inturn will facilitate the proper growth of economy and optimum utilization of country resources.

• The World Blitz Chess Championship is a chess tournament held to determine the world champion in chess played under blitz time controls. Since 2012, FIDE has held an annual joint rapid and blitz chess tournament and billed it as the World Rapid & Blitz Chess Championships.

• The current world blitz champion is Magnus Carlsen.

India's nominee to International Court of Justice (ICJ) Dalveer Bhandari (70) was re-elected to fifth and the last seat of World court. Bhandari received 183-193 votes in United Nations General Assembly and secured all 15 votes in UN Security Council (UNSC). He was elected after Britain withdrew its candidate from the election. This is the first time since the ICJ was established in 1945 that there will be no British judge in ICJ. Bhandari is fourth Indian judge to be elected to ICJ after B.N. Rau, Nagendra Singh and RS Pathak.
