(K + L)'s one day's work = 1/30 + 1/45 = 1/18

  LCD is nothing but Lowest or Least Common Denominator

Here LCD of 12 and 18 means LCD of two fractions with denominators 12 and 18 respectively.

The lowest common denominator or least common denominator (LCD) is the least common multiple (LCM) of the denominators of a set of fractions.

Suppose B joined for x months.

Given profit is divided in the ratio 3:1. Then,

 --> x = 8 months.

Suppose the ages of three persons are x, 2x, 3x years respectively 

Hence, age of youngest person = x = 30 years.

X= 2/3Y 

=> Y= 3/2X

Aage of X after 6 years = 46 years

So present age of X = 46-6 = 40 years

Now, present age of Y = 3/2 * 40 = 60 years.
