The central government has said that India has emerged as the 3rd largest aviation market in the world with a passenger traffic of over 10 crore reported for 2016-17. The Mercer’s survey includes 209 cities across five continents. The world’s least expensive cities for expatriates, according to Mercer’s survey, are Tunis (209), Bishkek (208) and Skopje (206). Mercer’s authoritative survey is one of the world’s most comprehensive, and is designed to help multinational companies and governments determine compensation allowances for their expatriate employees.

June 21St has been declared as the "International Yoga Day" by the United Nations General Assembly on December 11, 2014. The declaration came after the call for adoption of this day by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his address to UN General Assembly on September 27, 2014.
