An Indian boy has won the world’s largest pre-college science competition in the US in the environmental engineering category for his project on biodegradation of pesticides. Prashant Ranganathan, a 12th grader from Jamshedpur, alongwith over 20 high school students from various parts of India, participated in the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair.

Let the speed of the stream = x kmph

From the given data,

 129+x+129-x=3 hrs

3x2 = 27

=> x = 3 kmph

Therefore, the speed of the stream = 3 kmph

CPU speed is the central factor in a computer's performance. Let the third subject marks be 'x'
=> Second subject marks = 2x
=> Third subject marks = 4x

x + 2x + 4x = 224 x 3
=> 7x = 224 x 3

Given speed of the person = 8 1/2 = 17/2 kmph

speed of upstream = 17/2 - x
speed of downstream = 17/2 + x
But given that,
2(17/2 - x) = 17/2 + x
=> 3x = 17/2
=> x = 2.83 kmph.

Let 'u' be the speed of the current and 'v' be the speed of the boat.

=> v + u = 6u = 10/20/60 miles/hr

=> 6u = 30 m/h

=> u = 5 m/h

Given P = 54 and M = 80

According to the question,

Let ‘A’ years ago, M = 3P

=> M - A/P - A = 3

=> 80 - A = 3(54 - A)

=> 80 - A = 162 - 3A

=> 2A = 82

=> A = 41

Therefore, A = 41 years ago Sweety’s mother was 3 times of Sweety’s age.

Hence, at the age S = 13 and M = 39.
