Q:

Two metallic plate of equal thickness and coefficient thermal conductivity K1 and K2 put together face to face. A common plate is constructed. What is equivalent K?

A) K1k2/k1+k2 B) 2k1k2/k1+k2
C) K1+k2/k1k2 D) None

Answer & Explanation Answer: B) 2k1k2/k1+k2

Explanation:

We know that,

The equivalent K =  L1 + L2L1K1+L2K2

where L1 & L2 are plate1 & Plate2 thicknesses, K1 & K2 are coefficient thermal conductivity of plate1 & Plate2 respectively.

But here L1 = L2 = L (say)

Then K = L+L/(L/K1 + L/K2)  =  2K1K2K1+K2

Q:

K and L starts walking towards each other at 4 pm at speed of 3 km/hr and 4 km/hr respectively. They were initially 17.5 km apart. At what time do they meet ?

A) 6:00 am B) 6:30 pm
C) 5:45 am D) 5:52 pm

Answer & Explanation Answer: B) 6:30 pm

Explanation:

Suppose they meet after 'h' hours

Then

3h + 4h = 17.5

7h = 17.5

h = 2.5 hours

So they meet at => 4 + 2.5 = 6:30 pm

Q:

A woman says, "If you reverse my own age, the figures represent my husband's age. He is, of course, senior to me and the difference between our ages is one-eleventh of their sum." The woman's husband age is ?

A) 45 B) 24
C) 42 D) 54

Answer & Explanation Answer: D) 54

Explanation:

By trial and error method from the given options,

as 54 - 45 =  (1/11) x (45+54)  = 99/11  = 9

Hence this satisfies the given conditions.

Then the woman's husband age is 54.

Q:

A train 900 m long is running at a speed of 78 km/hr. If it crosses a tunnel in 1 min, then the length of the tunnel is ?

A) 400 m B) 300 m
C) 500 m D) 600 m

Answer & Explanation Answer: A) 400 m

Explanation:

Speed = 78 x 5/18 = 65/3 m/sec.
Time = 1 min = 60 sec.
Let the length of the train be x meters.
Then, (900 + x)/60 = 65/3
x = 400 m.

Q:

How many balls?

Number of balls in the figure...

balls1523099634.jpg image

Answer

You have to actually count all the balls in the pyramid.
Simple way is to count the balls in each level.

So lower most level lets say 1st level has 4 x 4 balls; i.e. 16 balls
Similarly 2nd level has 3 x 3 balls; i.e. 9 balls.
3rd level has 2 x 2 balls; i.e. 4 balls.
The top most level has just 1 ball.

So the total number of balls is 16+9+4+1 = 30.

So the image has 30 Balls in all.
