The main simple sugar found in fruit is Fructose. Glucose is found naturally occurring in fruits and other plants. But fructose is sweeter than glucose and can give you more energy. That's why a piece of fruit in the morning will give you more energy than a cup of coffee!

Fructose is what gives most fruits that sweet flavor and in combination with the acids present in certain fruits can give a pleasantly tangy flavor.

Amino acids are organic compounds containing amine (-NH2) and carboxyl (-COOH) functional groups, along with a side chain (R group) specific to each amino acid.

Depending on the nature of the side chain groups, three classes of aminoacids can e distinguished:

1. Amino acids with H ond donor and acceptor groups.

Histidine, lysine, aspartic acid, threonine,...

2. Amino acids with donor grups only.

Arginine, tryptophan and cysteine.

3. Amino acids with acceptor groups only.

Asparagine and glutamine.

A metalloid is any chemical element which has properties in between those of metals and nonmetals, or that has a mixture of them.

The six commonly recognised metalloids are

boron,

silicon,

germanium,

arsenic,

antimony, and

tellurium.

India’s first indigenously built Floating Dock (FDN-2) for the Indian Navy has launched at the L&T Shipbuilding Yard at Kattupalli near Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The Floating Dock is 185 metres long and 40 metres wide and will enable docking of all kinds of vessels, including Naval ships and submarines (excepting aircraft carriers and tankers) of up to 8,000 tonnes displacement, with draughts of up to seven metres, during both day and night. FDN-2 was designed and built by Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (L&T) at a cost of Rs 468 crore.

Law of Octaves states that "If the chemical elements are arranged according to increasing atomic weight, those with similar physical and chemical properties occur after each interval of seven elements." That is every 8th element have the same physical and chemical properties. This was established by the British scientist John Newlands in the year 1865.

In all plants and animal cells chromosomes are located in the Nucleus of the cells.

The Chromosomes are thread like structures present in the nucleus of the cells which are made up of proteins and a single molecule of DNA.

Their function is to carry the characteristic features of parent cells to daughter cells.
