In chemistry, the term transition metal has three possible meanings: The IUPAC definition defines a transition metal as "an element whose atom has a partially filled d sub-shell, or which can give rise to cations with an incomplete d sub-shell".

Any of the set of metallic elements occupying a central block (Groups IVB–VIII, IB, and IIB, or 4–12) in the periodic table, e.g. iron, manganese, chromium, and copper. During most of the cell cycle, interphase, the chromosomes are somewhat less condensed and are not visible as individual objects under the light microscope. However during cell division, mitosis, the chromosomes become highly condensed and are then visible as dark distinct bodies within the nuclei of cells. Competition  occurs when two or more organisations act independently to supply their products to the same group of consumers.

There are mainly two cases when firms can compete. One is price where firms are selling identical or very similar products, they must compete on price with each firm trying to undercut the others. The other is differentiation. A non-price competition depends on making a product different from those of competitors and by giving it distinctive qualities that are valued by the target market. This might include branding, styling, special features or higher levels of customer service. Good competition provides more options to customers and also brings with it improved  customer services.

When both sides have won the same number of points then: when each side has won one, or two, points, the score is described as "15-all" and "30-all" (or "15-up" and "30-up"), respectively.

However, if each player has won three points, the score is called as "deuce", not "40–all". From that point on in the game, whenever the score is tied, it is described as "deuce", regardless of how many points have been played.
