Kepler's laws of planetary motion are three scientific laws describing the motion of planets around the Sun.

• Kepler’s three laws of planetary motion can be stated as follows:

(1) All planets move about the Sun in elliptical orbits, having the Sun as one of the foci.

(2) A radius vector joining any planet to the Sun sweeps out equal areas in equal lengths of time.

(3) The squares of the sidereal periods (of revolution) of the planets are directly proportional to the cubes of their mean distances from the Sun.

Business cycles are identified as having four distinct phases:

1. Expansion,

2. Peak,

3. Contraction, and

4. Trough.

Expansion is the phase of the business cycle when the economy moves from a trough to a peak. It is a period when the level of business activity surges and gross domestic product (GDP) expands until it reaches a peak. A period of expansion is also known as an economic recovery.

An expansion is characterized by increasing employment, economic growth, and upward pressure on prices.

American startup Planet Labs, that launches small satellites into orbit and sells the imagery, has announced its acquisition of Google's 'Terra Bella' satellite business.
