The pattern followed in the given figures is

One, two, three, one, two, three.....arcs get inverted sequentially. This inversion takes place in an Anti Clock Wise direction.

The given number series 11, 12.2, 14.6, 18.2, ?

11 + 1.2 = 12.2

12.2 + 2.4 = 14.6

14.6 + 3.6 = 18.2

18.2 + 4.8 = 23

Hence, the next number in the given number series is 23.

This can be illustrated with an example.

Ex: 1896 is a leap year.The next leap year comes in 1904 (1900 is not a leap year).

There are 6 letters in the given word, out of which there are 3 vowels and 3 consonants.

Let us mark these positions as under:

Now, 3 vowels can be placed at any of the three places out 4, marked 1, 3, 5.  

Number of ways of arranging the vowels = 3P3 = 3! = 6.

Total number of ways = (6 x 6) = 36.

Thus,  Rest work =2/3  

Number of days required by A to finish 2/3 work = (2/3) x 9 = 6 days
