Kuchipudi is a dance-drama performance, with its roots in the ancient Hindu Sanskrit text of Natya Shastra. 

It originated in a village named Kuchipudi in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Kuchipudi is also known as Kuchelapuram or Kuchilapuri in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh.

The carbon arc lamp was the first widely-used type of electric light and the first commercially successful form of electric lamp.
